Albert Gonzalez

Catching Instructor and 10-U & 15-U Assistant Coach

Coach Albert Gonzalez is currently Head Coach of Monroe College Baseball program (Bronx Campus).  Coach Gonzalez will assist with coaching all Breathe teams: 10U, 12U and 15U and will add an experience that all players should be excited to learn from.

Coach Gonzalez came to Monroe College from Yeshiva University, where he was the Assistant Baseball Coach and served as the program’s catching coach. Earlier in his career, he held key positions at premier private training facilities in the metro NY area, including Frozen Ropes Training Center, The Baseball Center NYC, and King’s Baseball Academy. He also served as a personal bullpen catcher and off-season training partner with pitchers from the minor league organizations of the Houston Astros, Washington Nationals, New York Mets, Long Island Ducks and Rockland Boulders. Most recently, he worked with current New York Yankee pitcher Dellin Betances.

Coach Gonzalez is a former professional baseball player and college baseball recruiter. In addition to his work with Puerto Rico’s Double AA League in 2013, he played during the 2014 season with El Llano BC, a program within Spain’s top professional league. Following his professional career as a player, he served as a college baseball scout, assisting top baseball programs across the country to recruit talent from within the Southwest Region.

Coach Gonzalez spent the 2017 summer as the hitting coach with the Rockland Boulders and independent professional minor league team from the CanAm League and helped the Boulders reach their third CanAm league championship series appearance.

He has a proven track record in player development, both on the field and in the classroom. Indeed, he has assisted countless athletes earn scholarships to play college baseball and, ultimately, sign professional contracts.

A native of Rockland County, NY, Coach Gonzalez earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from High Point University.
